At Spicer Greene, we pride ourselves on designing and manufacturing our custom jewelry designs 100% in our downtown Asheville workshop. Our team of local artisans, designers and goldsmiths take pride in making your dreams become a reality.

Step 1
Inspiration & Design
Inspiration can come from anywhere! Our designers can start with a unique gemstone, your Pinterest board, pictures on your phone or a sketch on the back of a napkin.
Your ideas can be as defined or as abstract as you wish when we begin dreaming together.
Step 2
CAD Preview & Wax Model
Once we've defined your vision, our designer will create a CAD rendering of your piece so you can see it from every angle. We'll also use a 3D printer to create a wax model of your design so you can see it in person in its final size.
Step 3
Expert Craftsmanship
Our team of artisans will cast your piece in the metal of your choice and add all the finishing details like setting the stones, polishing the metal and adding design details.
After a rigorous quality control process, your new jewelry is ready for you to pick up!

Turn a ring into a pendant!
Our client had a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring that she loved, but wasn't wearing, so she asked us to transform it into a slide pendant.
Now she has a gorgeous one-of-a-kind pendant that she wears all the time!
Give an old piece a makeover!
Our client had an antique bloodstone ring with a worn out and dated setting, so we redesigned the ring to fit the stone, while preserving the vintage aesthetic!
Make your favorite gemstones into jewelry!
Our client had a fabulous collection of crystals and gemstones, and wanted to show off this black Tourmaline crystal and rare Louisiana Opal, so we worked with her to design pendants that fit each gem's unique natural beauty.
The black tourmaline pendant used diamonds and pearls from other pieces in the back of her jewelry box.
The Opal pendant was designed to match a beautiful vintage gold chain she found in our Estate collection.

During your consultation, we’ll guide you through jewel selection, metal choices, and design details, using state-of-the-art technology and decades of expertise to bring your vision to life. Every engagement ring we custom create is one-of-a-kind, crafted to last for generations.
Your family heirlooms made new
We are honored to be trusted to remake and reimagine your family heirlooms. Restoring your treasured items or reimagining them entirely is one of our greatest joys. Please bring in any pieces you think you might incorporate into your new design when you come for your consultation.
We are unable to work with diamonds that are lab grown, laser drilled, fracture filled or Yehuda diamonds. We also will not work with new diamonds purchased from other retailers (online or in-person).

Appointments are not necessary to begin your custom design. You can walk in any time and begin to create your dream piece.
Custom jewelry design can take as little as a month from your initial appointment to receiving your new piece of jewelry.
However, certain circumstances can make the design stage take significantly longer. For example, if we are sourcing incredibly rare stones or need to work with outside vendors, the process can take weeks or months.Yes, custom engagement rings are one of our specialties. Our team loves working with our clients to create something truly special for that moment when you're ready to propose.
We can design a custom engagement ring from an existing ring that has been in your family for generations, or something entirely new.Yes. Because your piece is crafted just for you by an expert designer and cast as a unique piece in our workshop, the price is typically higher than a comparable piece in our showcase. However, when you are finished you have a special piece that is unique to you.
Yes! Our team specializes in crafting custom jewelry that honors and highlights your heirloom family stones. Bring any pieces you are considering using to your initial consultation and our team can help you decide what to reuse in your new piece.
We can reuse your gold if it's all the same karat (ie. 14k, 18k). We cannot reuse platinum or palladium, but we can purchase the leftover metal and use it as a credit toward the final price of your design.
Our goldsmiths can evaluate your metal to help determine if it is a good candidate for reuse. Unknown metal alloys can lead to a weaker end product, so using newly refined metal has a more guaranteed outcome in the casting process.
To get started, we require a $150 non-refundable deposit, which includes a consultation with our designer, realistic renderings, and an estimate. From there, you can make revisions until the design is perfect. Once the design is approved, we require a deposit of half the total cost to begin production, with the remaining balance due upon pick up.
No, because our store does not sell lab-grown or synthetic diamonds, our shop is unable to provide any service or custom design on jewelry that includes them.
