Glamour Shots with Asheville Humane Society: Emerald

The Asheville Humane Society has been one of our favorite local charities to support. To help great pets find new homes, we at Wick and Greene Jewelers are spotlighting a new pet each month in a series of glamour shots with a piece of birthstone jewelry borrowed straight from the cases at Wick and Greene.

Last month we spotlighted Diamond in a Hearts on Fire Infinity Pendant. We’re happy to report Diamond found her forever home!

This month is all about Emerald who models an emerald pendant and bracelet. Fun fact: emeralds are considered to be a symbol of rebirth and love. We think Emerald’s name suits her! We’ll let the Asheville Humane Society tell you more about this gem of a pet:

This month, we’d like you to meet Emerald, named in honor of the May birthstone! Emerald is three years old and has been waiting for a new family for three months now. You’d never believe it from these photos, but Emerald typically looks pretty shy and serious. When potential adopters walk by her doggie condo, she gives them a worried brow and concerned glance. Emerald came to Asheville Humane Society very fearful of people, unsure of who to trust. The staff quickly won her over and now Emerald is learning that people are actually pretty awesome… ESPECIALLY when they give belly rubs To show everyone the softer side of Emerald, Wick and Greene Jewelers generously picked out this beautiful emerald pendant and bracelet for this lovely lady to model. And just look at the way her face lights up!!! Emerald completely soaked up all the attention in her photoshoot, and instead of feeling fear, she felt special and loved.
